The 70th Lancaster Hall Hotel Skat Tournament

Seven people braved the Cup Final crowds and made it to May's tournament. As there would only be two tables, we decided to play just two sessions and try to play a full list in each one, which we managed to do and still have an early finish. In the first session, organizer Mike Tobias floated between the two tables and we played 42 hands, but to save time (and avoid complications) sat out the second half so two tables of three each played 36.

Peter Biddlecombe won fairly comfortably with 2285pts, having won the first session, and failing to get the highest score in the second by just 32pts. Cynthia Webb finished second on 1872, including the best session score of 1212 in the second half, and Mo Ali was third with 1754pts. Ruth Gutensohn also took a prize as the only other player with a session score over 1000, 1007 in round one.

Winners won whisky, wine and chocolates.
