Skat event in the Young Chelsea

Our next tournament will be held at the Young Chelsea Bidge Club on Sunday May 16th. The Young Chelsea is at 32 Barkston Gardens, off Earl's Court opposite and not far south of Earl's Court tube station. See a map.

The premises will open at 11:00. As with our previous events, registration will be between 11:00 and 11:15, play will start at 11:30, and consist of 4 rounds of synchron Skat. We will aim to finish by 18:30. You are welcome to play any or all of the rounds.

So that the Young Chelsea can arrange lunch, please tell the organiser, Nick Wedd, two days in advance if you intend to play. Late entries can be accepted before 11:00 a.m. on the day if you find yourself unexpectedly free. Before play starts you should order lunch from the bar. The menu may resemble

Toasted sandwiches (brown or white),
any combination of cheese, ham, tomato.		£1.80
Smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich£3.30
Toasted ciabatta with EITHER
goat's cheese, peppers, and mushrooms
OR salami, tomatoes, and cheese		£3.30
Salad with cottage cheese, tuna, or cheese£3.30
Salad with smoked salmon£4.50

Synchron Skat merely means the that same hands are played at all the tables; for the individual player, there is no difference to the way you would play at home, except that you don't get to shuffle the cards.

Players of all standards are invited to participate; if you are not available for all four sessions we are usually able to accommodate you, particularly if we know beforehand!

The entry fee is £8.50, with prizes awarded to the winner and runners-up.
