Skat tournament in the Marlborough Arms, Torrington Place, London WC1

Sunday October 26th 2008

The next BSkA Skat tournament will take place on Sunday 26th October at the Marlborough Arms pub, 36 Torrington Place, London WC1E 7HJ. The nearest station is Goodge Street (Northern Line) but Warren Street (Victoria Line) and Euston Square (Circle Line) and Tottenham Court Road (Central Line) are not far away. Here is a map.

Players of all abilities and levels of experience are welcome. We shall follow our usual format with four sessions of duplicate (Synchron) Skat. Play starts at 11:30 and there is a lunch break after the first session, the whole event finishing at around 7pm. Those who can't be there all day are welcome to play in just some of the sessions, but you would need to play all four to have a good chance of winning a prize.

I would be grateful if you could let me know by Thursday 23rd October whether you plan to take part, so that we know how many tables to set up what prizes we can afford. You can email me at john@pagat.com or call me on 020 7636 9653. People who have not registered in advance are still welcome to enter by coming to the Marlborough Arms on the day, and we will and we will do our best to include you in the tournament.

On the day, please try to arrive before 11:15. If you will be arriving later than this, please call my mobile 07736 518738 or send a message to let me know at what time you expect to be there (this applies whether or not have registered in advance). Players who do not appear or send a message by 11:15 are not guaranteed a place in the first session.

Looking forward to seeing you on 26th October.

John McLeod, tournament director.
