What do you choose as trumps?

The player who chose spades made his contract, the one who chose clubs went off.

I mention this only because, at the end of the session, the player who preferred a
sidesuit headed by two losers to one headed by two winners complained about his
bad luck, and asked what he had done wrong.

Definitely Spades. I think Grand is preferable to Clubs, and might well have won with that distribution, even with the 2-0 J split.
