Re: Strong but dangerous cards in Vorhand

This is my second attempt to post a reply. I don't know what happened to my first
attempt, several days ago.

I discard the HT and the SK. I lead one of the Unders, then the DT.

Re: A hand from February

I thought Grand too risky, and chose clubs.

In either clubs or spades, you are most unlikely to go off, or to make Schwarz. Clubs gives you a better chance of Schneider, whereas spades gives you the certainty of an extra multiplier. I failed to consider the extra multiplier when I chose clubs.

You pick up the Skat, and then hold J CSHD C K97 S A98 H D Q8 You discard (I assume) the diamonds. But what do you choose as trumps? I believe that on the day, I got t...

Re: Oxford tournament, Sat 24th Nov.

Details are now on the BSkA web site, at http://www.weddslist.com/skat/ktnw3.html

Note that if you are planning to get to Oxford by train from London, it may be cheapest
to book your tickets (two single tickets, at £6.50 each) in advance.

Re: Grand Hand?

As HH, I would pass. My grand hand is probably making (I assume that my jack of spades is really the jack of clubs). But MH's grand is almost certainly going off, so I would just take the 48 (which turns out to be 120).

Hand from July 15th

Among the hands from our July event in the Young Chelsea, I have noticed one that I thought worthy of comment. It was the ninth hand from the first session. After winning the bidding for 18, middlehand picked up the Skat and then held J CH C - S ATK8 H ATQ87 D 7 I would have discarded the diamond an...
